Before joining Convex, I’d been involved in aviation insurance for 37 years, both as a broker and underwriter in senior roles. I’d also launched the Aviation account in 2002 at Catlin.

I believe Convex has entered the market just when our clients and brokers need a fresh approach. Legacy process and systems, along with cumbersome underwriting structures and a lack of strategy, have created serious disruption. The opportunity to build a brand-new business, with no legacy issues and supported by state-of-the-art analytics, is very exciting. Additionally, the huge respect I developed for the senior management during my time at Catlin, and the recruitment of highly respected peers in the other lines of business, convinced me this was a unique opportunity in my career.

I’m delighted to be included in this project and to be able to build a team of people with experience, reputation and a similar vision to me. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be able to give our clients and brokers high-quality products and services just at the time they need them.
