Aerospace

Aerospace is a highly technological industry that faces large, complex and constantly evolving risks and requires insurers who can be adept and versatile to deal with these challenges. What’s more, service in the aerospace insurance market has not always matched the demands of the industry’s clients.

We have the skills, experience and state-of-the-art data analytics to give clients and brokers a level of service that stands out in the market.

Our industry-respected team insures airlines, aircraft and component manufacturers, airports and ground-based operators against a wide range of risks including terrorism and war. We focus in particular on clients that need specialist market capabilities.

Before joining Convex, I’d been involved in aviation insurance for 37 years, both as a broker and underwriter in senior roles. I’d also launched the Aviation account in 2002 at Catlin.

I believe Convex has entered the market just when our clients and brokers need a fresh approach. Legacy process and systems, along with cumbersome underwriting structures and a lack of strategy, have created serious disruption. The opportunity to build a brand-new business, with no legacy issues and supported by state-of-the-art analytics, is very exciting. Additionally, the huge respect I developed for the senior management during my time at Catlin, and the recruitment of highly respected peers in the other lines of business, convinced me this was a unique opportunity in my career.

I’m delighted to be included in this project and to be able to build a team of people with experience, reputation and a similar vision to me. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be able to give our clients and brokers high-quality products and services just at the time they need them.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

Our freedom from legacy issues means we can focus on the future, and see our relationships with clients and brokers from a broader perspective. We can come to every meeting with a view on what we can do for you, as well as a clear strategy for the future.

The way we use data and analytics is another differentiator. We feed the latest and best data into a rating platform that considers many factors, including background issues insurers don’t normally look at. These could include non-traditional risk factors that may be an indicator of future trends or challenges, such as industrial disputes or financial challenges.

As we develop our portfolio, and our data and analysis tools, we’ll get to know your operations and challenges even better. This will allow us to have even more transparent, productive discussions with our clients and brokers.

Who we do business with

Aerospace is – by its nature – a high-profile and highly technological industry that’s constantly investing in safety. We want to be the ‘go-to’ Insurer for airlines, aircraft and component manufacturers, airports and ground-based operators, especially in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

We will achieve this by offering quality security, superior service and a flexible approach to solving the issues and challenges of sophisticated clients. We’re particularly interested in those that need specialist market skills.
