Sustainability

Our approach to sustainability is integral to and integrated in Convex’s strategy; underpinned by Convex’s values. We are clear that we will only deliver on our ambition to be the partner of choice for the insurance and reinsurance of complex specialty risks if we fully integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into how we run our organisation.

Sustainability statement

We founded Convex in 2019 with a clear ambition: to become the partner of choice for the insurance and reinsurance of complex specialty risks. To realise this ambition, we must of course offer a compelling commercial proposition, together with market-leading standards of service. With our extensive experience in the industry, we understand what this means in today’s world, and the resilience a business needs to succeed.

Long-term sustainability is integral to our approach, starting from the fact that the very purpose of commercial insurance is to support the sustainability of business activities – to protect them against the risks that might otherwise threaten their survival.

Convex Seascape Survey

We cannot solve the climate crisis without the ocean. There is a huge need for a major science initiative with the seabed at its heart. The Convex Seascape Survey brings together a multidisciplinary team made up of world-class ocean and blue carbon scientists. This ambitious five-year global research programme is the largest attempt yet to build a greater understanding of the properties and capabilities of the ocean and its continental shelves in the earth’s carbon cycle, as a part of the urgent effort to address climate change.

Climatewise Report

Convex has been a member of Climatewise since 2021. The attached report is for the 2022/2023 reporting year and demonstrates our progress towards meeting the Climatewise Principles. Climatewise Principles are aligned to TCFD (Taskforce for Climate related Financial Reporting).
