What is one thing you are most proud of during your time at Convex?
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned recently?
I found out Convex have recently built an AI tool that uses satellite imagery and policy information to estimate property-related claims following a natural disaster such as a hurricane or wildfire.
How has Convex supported your learning and career development since joining?
By creating a culture where long-term thinking is prioritised, empowering managers to invest time and resource into your development.
I’ve been lucky enough to be part of mentoring schemes with senior members of staff, have spent time with different teams around the company, and have been given funding and time away from work to study towards professional qualifications.

What has been the biggest surprise to you at Convex?
How friendly everyone is around the office! The transition from university to the corporate world can be daunting, but from day 1 I was surrounded by friendly faces who were incredibly supportive and keen to give me a strong start to my career.
Complete this sentence, Convex is different because….
… of the people we employ! If employees don’t carry company values into their daily work and decision making, then the values are meaningless – at Convex, you can feel that values such as “Determined to improve” and “Straightforward and fair” shape the big-picture direction of our strategy and projects we work on, right down to small, day-to-day decisions that we make.

What is one thing you are most proud of during your time at Convex?
I had the opportunity to lead the company’s first fireside chat with Paul Brand at our Town Hall. I was proud to be recognised for the opportunity and overwhelmed by the positive feedback.
What inspired you to join our Graduate Programme, and what stood out to you during the application process?
Being part of a smaller and younger company that is still in its growth phase, but the knowledge and wisdom not being compromised.
The interest lies more in who you are as person rather your technical knowledge – we are more concerned about working with nice and interesting people who are open to learning.
What has been the biggest surprise to you at Convex?
How willing people are to help you in whatever it is you may need – a testament of how nice everyone despite titles / years of experience.

What is your favourite initiative at Convex you’ve been apart of?
Being a part of the Convex Allies channel and driving initiatives around diversity and inclusion such as Ramadan, Black History Month, International Women’s/Men’s Day.
What’s your superpower?
Knowing the entire drinks menu at any coffee shop within the London square mile.

What would you tell someone applying for a job at Convex?
It is a great decision and good luck! Be yourself, you aren’t expected to know everything about insurance but show your interest and enthusiasm to learn.
How has Convex supported your learning and career development since joining?
Convex has supported my learning and development in a number of ways:
– I have been supported through completing the Actuarial exams
– Funded a trip to Paris to complete 2 days of reinsurance training with SCOR
– Secondment to the Actuarial team for a year
– Secondment to Bermuda to support on 1/1 reinsurance renewals
What has been the biggest surprise to you at Convex?
If you have a good idea, people listen to you. I had a vision of the working world as being hierarchical with your ability to impact being entirely based on your years of experience and job title.
This couldn’t be further from the truth at Convex.

If someone asked you about Convex over the weekend, what would you say?
I would convince them that insurance at Convex is cool! We work on loads of interesting and exciting products and without insurance many industries wouldn’t be able to function.
If your time at Convex were a TV show or Film, what would it be and why?
Moneyball – at Convex we enjoy being different. We are data-driven, achieve top results and we do it more efficiently than our competitors
